Il materiale non ancora completamente fermentato (fibre da 0,5 mm) viene riportato nel fermentatore\/post-fermentatore e ha il tempo di fermentare ulteriormente, poich\u00e9 i diversi materiali in ingresso richiedono tempi diversi per fermentare.<\/p><p>Il ricircolo dei materiali fibrosi <strong>prolunga selettivamente il tempo di ritenzione delle fibre nel fermentatore o nel digestore secondario<\/strong>. Le fibre vengono trattenute e la percentuale di componenti non fermentati nel prodotto di fermentazione si riduce in modo significativo. Il substrato viene quindi fermentato meglio, con un conseguente risparmio di substrato e una riduzione dei costi e del volume dei prodotti di fermentazione. La rimozione delle fibre rende inoltre il prodotto di fermentazione pi\u00f9 fluido, facilitando la sua diffusione e riducendo la necessit\u00e0 di agitare il magazzino del prodotto di fermentazione.<\/p><p>Il contenuto del contenitore, ricco di fibre, stimola la biologia generale a scomporre le sostanze difficili da fermentare. Di conseguenza, il materiale contiene pi\u00f9 componenti scarsamente degradabili a parit\u00e0 di alimentazione, il che richiede un adattamento da parte dei microrganismi per degradarli in modo pi\u00f9 efficiente. Questo migliora il tasso di degradazione delle sostanze scarsamente degradabili come il GPS (paglia, letame), mentre il tasso di degradazione delle sostanze facilmente degradabili rimane
